Actually this collection is inspired by the Earth Pyramids of Ritten, a very unique formation of the local landscape. The idea of balancing a round stone on the top of another volume was fascinating me to design Ecrin, a collection of containers in three sizes with a stone like lid on top. These lids are smooth like river stones blown or soap bubble in colored glass. In contrast to the organic shape, the container is a stabile and straight cylinder. It is a composition of volumes, colors and space in glass. The important thickness of the glass creates a distance between the objects inside and the outside/the viewer, like a protection. The glass bubble closes elegantly the box by lying on.
